Russia launched another large-scale overnight air attack on Ukraine, with Ukrainian air defenses intercepting or suppressing most of the incoming targets, including missiles. However, strikes were also recorded, the Ukrainian Air Force reported.
The attack began at 6 p.m. on September 11.
Russian forces used:
- Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles launched from Voronezh and Rostov regions and occupied Crimea;
- eight Kalibr sea-launched cruise missiles from the Black Sea;
- six Kh-59/69 guided air-launched missiles;
- 129 attack drones, including Shahed UAVs, S8000 Banderol drones and Parodiya decoys.
The drones were launched from areas near Kursk and Oryol, as well as occupied parts of Donetsk region and Crimea.
Odesa region was the main target of the attack.
Ukrainian forces used aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups to repel the attack.
As of 8:30 a.m., Ukrainian air defenses had destroyed or suppressed 110 aerial targets, including:
- six Kalibr missiles;
- two Kh-59/69 missiles;
- one S8000 Banderol drone;
- 101 Shahed, Gerbera and other drones.
At the same time, Russian missile and drone strikes were recorded at 20 locations, while debris from intercepted targets fell at another four sites.
The air attack was still ongoing, with additional Russian drones remaining in Ukrainian airspace.
