Russian forces carried out a morning strike on a residential high-rise in Dnipro, causing fires and injuring several residents, according to regional authorities.
The head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Hanzha, reported that the attack damaged walls, balconies, windows, and technical floors of the building. Fires broke out on the upper floors following the impact.
Casualties
Authorities confirmed that three people were injured in the strike. Two of them — a 67-year-old woman and a 74-year-old man — were hospitalized in serious condition with shrapnel wounds, lacerations, and traumatic brain injuries.
Emergency medical teams continue to provide assistance to the wounded.
Wider overnight attack
The strike on Dnipro occurred amid a large-scale overnight Russian attack on Ukraine involving drones and missiles.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, a total of 426 aerial targets were detected overnight, with 390 intercepted or suppressed, including missiles and drones.
Other regions were also affected:
- In Poltava, residential buildings and a hotel were damaged, with fatalities and injuries reported
- A commuter train near Kharkiv was struck by a drone, resulting in one death and several injuries
Emergency services continue to respond across affected areas as assessments of the full damage are ongoing.
