Kyiv is recovering from another overnight Russian attack that caused fires and damage at 16 locations across the capital.
Two killed, at least 10 injured
As of 8 a.m., two people had been killed and at least 10 injured.
Both fatalities were residents of Solomianskyi district, where a missile or debris struck a residential building and caused a fire.
Police reported that eight injured people in the district were aged between 22 and 65. They suffered cuts and shrapnel wounds, as well as injuries to the face, neck, torso and limbs.
A 62-year-old man in Holosiivskyi district sought medical assistance after experiencing an acute stress reaction. A 29-year-old foreign national was injured in Darnytskyi district.
Seven Kyiv districts affected
Damage and falling debris were recorded in:
- Holosiivskyi
- Darnytskyi
- Dniprovskyi
- Obolonskyi
- Podilskyi
- Solomianskyi
- Shevchenkivskyi districts.
Residential and civilian infrastructure damaged
Preliminary reports indicate that at least 14 apartment buildings, a dormitory, school, clinic, supermarket, gas station, warehouses and an administrative building were damaged. Twenty-five vehicles were also affected.
In Holosiivskyi district, debris damaged a residential building and an educational facility and caused fires at garages and warehouses.
Warehouses caught fire in Darnytskyi, Podilskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts. In Solomianskyi district, a warehouse and several residential buildings were affected by fire.
The Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office has opened a pretrial investigation into a war crime resulting in deaths, under Part 2 of Article 438 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code.
Rescuers, police, investigative teams, explosives experts and other emergency services are working at the impact sites.
New fires were also reported in Kyiv region, where Russian drones destroyed seven trucks and struck logistics facilities in Boryspil and Fastiv districts.
Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, nearly 2,700 medical facilities in Ukraine have been damaged or destroyed, according to Ukrainian authorities.
Russian forces continue to target civilian infrastructure, including warehouses and distribution centers operated by major Ukrainian retailers.
