Russian drone strike kills two in Kyiv

Russian drone strikes on Kyiv on September 11 hit two gas stations in Dniprovskyi and Obolonskyi districts, killing two people and injuring eight, Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko said.

In Dniprovskyi district, a drone struck a gas station, prompting emergency services to respond. Medics were also called to a nearby residential building.

In Obolonskyi district, Russian forces struck a gas station twice. Two people were initially reported injured, while a drone also damaged a car and caused a fire on non-residential land.

The State Emergency Service later reported that the number of people injured in the gas station attacks had risen to five, including one rescuer. The emergency worker was wounded during a second strike while firefighters were dealing with the blaze.

According to Klitschko, the overall number of injured later reached eight. Six people remained hospitalized, while two people died from their injuries.

A nine-story residential building in Obolonskyi district was also hit, leaving eight people injured, including one person in critical condition.

During the daytime attack, a medical emergency vehicle responding to a call was damaged. The medical crew was not injured.

All reported fires have been extinguished.

Assistance center opened

Kyiv authorities opened a support center for residents affected by the September 11 attack in Dniprovskyi district.

The center is located at 5 Eduarda Vilde Street, Gymnasium No. 184, where residents can receive assistance and information.

The latest attack followed another Russian drone strike on Kyiv overnight, when a nine-story residential building in Dniprovskyi district caught fire and eight people were injured.

Russian drones also targeted Kyiv region, damaging residential buildings and industrial facilities.
