In the Donetsk region on the morning of Friday, March 20, an evacuation team from the NGO “Proliska” came under attack by a Russian drone in the settlement of Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka in the Kramatorsk district. As a result, one person was killed and several others were injured, according to the organization’s founder and head, Yevhen Kaplin.
“Not a good morning in Donetsk region. Our evacuation crew in Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka was attacked by a Russian drone. Unfortunately, there are wounded and a fatality. We are currently doing everything possible to get the injured to hospital. More details will follow,” he wrote on Facebook.
Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka is located about 10 km from the line of contact between the towns of Druzhkivka and Kostiantynivka. Before the full-scale war, more than 60,000 people lived in the settlement.
According to the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Russian forces shelled settlements in the region 16 times over the past day. In total, 577 people were evacuated from frontline areas, including 98 children.
Last week, Russian forces also attacked an evacuation team of the State Emergency Service in the Zaporizhzhia region while it was evacuating an elderly couple — a 71-year-old woman and a 70-year-old man. The vehicle was rendered inoperable, but no passengers or rescuers were injured.
