Russian forces struck the locomotive of a passenger train in Volyn region on September 13, about two kilometers from the border with Poland, Ukrzaliznytsia reported.

The company said its monitoring team detected the threat in advance and alerted the train crew, allowing them to take safety measures.

No casualties were reported.

Ukrzaliznytsia said it continues to monitor air threats and take measures to protect passengers and railway employees.

The incident follows a series of Russian attacks on Ukrainian railway infrastructure.

On September 12, Russian forces struck a passenger train in Lutsk. Passengers and railway workers had been evacuated in advance, and no one was injured. The attack caused a fire that was later extinguished.

On September 8, Russian drones also targeted the Kyiv–Sumy train near Sumy. The train was stopped in time, allowing passengers and railway staff to evacuate before the attack.
