Russian strike injures 17 in Odesa

Russian forces attacked Odesa overnight on September 12, damaging a high-rise residential building and injuring 17 people, including a five-month-old baby, Head of the Odesa City Military Administration Serhii Lysak said.

At around 5 a.m., the Ukrainian Air Force warned of possible launches of Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea and a ballistic missile threat from occupied Crimea.

Soon afterward, missiles were reported moving toward several areas of Odesa region, including Dobroslav, Chornomorske, Lymanka and Zatoka.

The attack caused significant damage to a multi-story residential building. The number of injured increased from three in the initial reports to 12 and later 17.

Emergency services and municipal crews are working at the scene, while operational headquarters have been set up to assist those affected.
