Ukraine’s Armed Forces have struck a launcher from a Russian coastal missile system in occupied Crimea, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The target was part of the K-300P Bastion located near the village of Aktachi in the Bakhchisarai district.
Capable of launching Zircon missiles
According to the military, such systems are used by Russia to launch 3M22 Zircon anti-ship missiles, which have increasingly been employed against ground targets in Ukraine.
The Zircon missile is equipped with a hypersonic scramjet engine and has an estimated range of around 700 kilometers.
Wider strikes overnight
During the same night, Ukrainian forces also targeted:
- concentrations of Russian troops near Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk region,
- positions near Khoroshe in Luhansk region,
- and Novozlatopil in Zaporizhzhia region.
Additionally, strikes hit a Russian repair unit and a drone command center in Donetsk region.
Strategic role of Bastion
The Bastion system is designed to engage:
- surface ships and naval groups,
- amphibious assault formations,
- and radar-visible ground targets, even under heavy electronic warfare conditions.
Damage assessments and Russian losses are still being clarified.
Despite Russian claims of the Zircon missile’s near invulnerability, Ukrainian air defenses have intercepted some of them—primarily in regions equipped with advanced air defense systems.
